I went there last night with my family. This place was a regular for us for many years until a few years back as we were crazy for thai food. Ginseng is located at the Hotel Royal Orchid adjoining the KGA Golf Course. Blue-and-white pillars and paper umbrellas converted into ceiling lights look down at the wooden floor. Elegant high-backed chairs and a choice of different-sized tables are convenient when going in a group. We found many other good options over the last few years (mugen which closed down this year, benjarong, shiok which finally closed down last year). More back to this visit, we ordered veg sui mai, manchow soup and sons crispy salt and pepper veg for starters. Veg sui mai is still the best we have eaten. For main course we ordered Japanese hibachi rice, moon fan rice, veg in hot bean sauce and pan fried fish in chili sauce. Rice was good, so was the veg in hot bean sauce. Fish was good. It was just batter fried with hardly any sauce. I dont know why they say it is pan fried, Anyways, it was an okay experience, I would like to come back and try out more dishes at this restaurant.
Few days back I went to Ginseng restaurant which is located in Royal Orchid Hotel, and I had a great time here. It was my friends birthday so he invited me and my three friends to this restaurant. It was my first visit to this place so was a bit excited. I had heard a lot about this restaurant from the same friends and after dining here I was glad that he gave party here but at the same time disappointed that why did not I come to this restaurant before. Calm and welcoming ambience, simple yet attractive interior and spacious seating makes it a perfect place to hang-out with friends or spend good dinning time with family. It serves authentic Chinese, Japanese and Asian cuisines, and from it I liked Sake Make, Sambal Udang Prawn and Chilli Oyster Sauce. Ginseng made my evening, Thanks to my friend for introducing this place and chef for serving mouth-watering dishes.
